Book Blitz for Whole Lotta Frogs by Samatha Harris

Title: Whole Lotta Frogs
Author: Samatha Harris
Genre: Standalone Romantic Comedy
Release Date: June 19, 2018

My name is Lennox Brooks and I’ll admit, I’ve made a lot of mistakes. I don’t take the big risks, I cover my insecurities with snark, I’ve shown my crazy a few more times then I would’ve liked, and I’ve been trying, and failing at love pretty much since I first grew tits.
Weirdos, Mama’s boys, the over-coiffed, and underwhelming, I’ve been out with them all, just read my blog. I’ve got horror stories that would curl your toes and singe your nose hairs, but none of them compare to the toad who started it all, Ellis Walker.
He was the boy next door, the charming, infuriatingly gorgeous one who broke my heart and disappeared without a trace. Now he’s back and determined to throw my life into chaos, dredging up painful memories just when things were getting good.
But the thing is there are always two sides to every story.
I’ve spent the better part of my life hating him for everything he put me through, but without that resentment clouding my judgment how will I ever resist him?
Love is complicated, appearances are deceiving, and sometimes you have to kiss a whole lotta frogs before finding your prince.

I got ready in a fury and reread Ellis’s invasive text three times while I fixed my hair and makeup, shaking my head each time and fighting back a smile.
I still hadn’t answered when I started walking the six blocks to Sawyer’s apartment. I’d barely stepped off the stoop of my building when my phone rang.
“You never answered my question,” Ellis said.
My lips curled up at the corners. “Of course, I didn’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s none of your business.”
“Len, your nudity is absolutely my business. In fact, I’m the CEO of that luscious body and I’m a hands-on kind of leader.”
I shook my head, unable to hold back my smile any longer. “Wow, you managed to turn a creepy text into an even creepier metaphor. Kudos to you.”
Ellis laughed. “Are you?”
“Am I what?”
“Naked,” he said. “I’m about the hop in the shower and I need a visual to, you know, help me finish the job.”
“You’re unbelievable.”
“Unbelievably sexy you mean.” I could hear the grin in his voice.
“Seriously, though,” he said. “What are you up to?”
“Well.” I took a deep breath, the ice-cold air burning my nose. “If you must know, Sawyer offered to make me dinner. I’m on my way to his place.”
“Really?” he asked. “Great!”
I stopped short on the sidewalk my feet frozen to the pavement. People around me grunted their disapproval and moved around me as I stood glued to the concrete.
“Great?” What happened to throwing his hat in the ring?
“Yeah. I’m starved; I’ll meet you there in ten.”
“You can’t be serious.”
“I love his food—man, that guy can cook. Best decision I ever made, going into business with him. Even if he’s trying to steal my woman.”
“Ellis!” I shouted into the phone. An elderly woman pulling a grocery cart behind her glared at me for my outburst. I mouthed my apologies to her then returned to my phone. “So help me God if you show up at Sawyer’s…”
“What’s the big deal? I’m friends with him. He’s friends with you. We can all have dinner together, it’ll be fun.”
“You aren’t invited.”
“Oh, Len, I’m hurt. I thought we were moving forward. We’re friends, aren’t we?”
I sighed. “Yes, we’re friends.”
“And friends sometimes eat together?” I groaned, not liking the route this conversation was taking. “Sawyer and I are friends, which I expect might change when I tell him how I feel about you. Oh, what the hell—we’ll just leave him out of this and you and I will just go ourselves.”
“Smooth, Ellis,” I said. “Real smooth.”
“I am pretty smooth if I do say so myself. Not to mention devastatingly handsome, and moderately charming.”
“Only moderately?” I asked.
“Yes, but don’t worry; I grow on you.”
I took a deep breath to calm my nerves and closed my eyes. “Please tell me you are not going to show up this evening.”
Ellis laughed. “Relax. I won’t be interrupting your little dinner.”
“Thanks.” I checked the address and looked up at Sawyer’s building. The door to which was sandwiched between a dry cleaner and a greasy pizza place. “I’ve got to go. I’ll talk to you later.”
“Okay,” he said. “Lennox?”
He didn’t say anything right away. I just stood there, the cold wind biting at my fingertips.
“Don’t—," he started, his voice sounding almost pained.
“Don’t, what?”
I stood there listening to him breathe on the other end.
“Nothing.” He sighed.
I groaned and rolled my eyes. “Bye, Ellis.”

Author Bio

Samatha “Sam” Harris lives near Baltimore, Maryland with her husband David and daughter Ava. Born in Florida, she migrated north which most people agree was a little backwards. She has been an artist all of her life, a Tattoo Artist for more than ten years, and a storyteller since she was a kid.

Sam has a slightly unhealthy love for Frank Sinatra, classic movies, and Jazz and Blues music, but her first love will always be reading. From Romance, to Thrillers, to Historical Fiction and everything in between, she loves to become a part of the story. As a writer she tells the stories that she would want to read.

Book Review for Her Invisible Soldier by Grace Risata

Buy Link

After the death of his best friend in an ambush, Dixon Wade returns from the military a broken man. Bitter, angry at the world, and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, he feels invisible and forgotten by everyone around him. Everything changes when he meets her

Fiercely stubborn and independent, Alyce is accustomed to doing what she wants, when she wants. Forced to volunteer at a charity in order to keep her job, she burns through every opportunity in town until stumbling upon a place that serves veterans.

Once these two volatile personalities collide, a battle of wills ensues. Never one to back down when faced with a challenge, Alyce comes up with some very interesting ideas to get her soldier back on the road to recovery.

Just as things begin to heat up for this unlikely pair, mistakes are made that could derail their entire relationship. Will Alyce be able to put the past aside and find a future with her invisible soldier?

Author’s Note: This full length, stand alone novel contains passionate encounters between a man and woman with sizzling chemistry, no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed Happily Ever After.

Grace Risata, is not a new author to me. With every new story that she writes, she blows my mind. Her Invisible Soldier had my emotions all up in a tizzy. The characters are so intense that I questioned my breaths and heartbeats. I practically felt as if I was breathing or hyperventilating for these characters.

Alyce with a "y"  instead of an "i" is not your typical romance heroine, her straightforward independent attitude can put off most people. It's her persistence and witty banter that catches the attention of someone who's been avoiding attention by keeping to himself.  Alyce has gone through volunteer work likes she's going through a rolodex file. The Veterans Center is her last option, it should be easy to help file paperwork and talk to soldiers. Not when Alyce is involved, she will spot a challenge a mile away. In this case, he is a tall drink of gorgeousness battling PTSD. He's broken, but so is she.

Dixon Wade, I have to breathe just a little when I think of him. He had me wanting to scream with how much of an in your face character he is. His filthy demeanor comes off so strong that his words sent a chill right down my spine. It's his pain, heartbreak, and demons that had me wanting to wrap my arms around him. Dixon won his way into my heart and had me in tears. He is such a strong character with so much weight on his shoulders. Hopefully letting go of some of his fears and secrets will lighten him up a little now that he's found some life into him brought on by a stubborn woman that is willing to stand by him.

I loved everything about Her Invisible Soldier. Risata handles post-traumatic stress disorder and prejudices in the storyline with sensitivity and realism. The secondary characters leave a lasting impression and also play a big part in the true meaning of friendship and letting go of toxic people in your life.

Jessa Steele shoots to kill.
She does not fall in love.
She does not get captured.
Mason “Mace” Moscaretti can retrieve the worst of the worst.
No capo or drug lord is too clever to escape him.
When he meets Jessa embedded deep with a Colombian target, he’s determined to capture her heart and walk away from active duty.
And he does.
Six years later, Jessa and Mace are happily married, burning up the bedroom, and ready to start making babies when a job arises Jessa can’t resist. What she doesn’t know is this client won’t stop until they’re both dead.
A SAFE, NO Cheating; NO Cliffhanger story! SAVE ME is a white-hot, STAND-ALONE love story, featuring a fearless husband and wife team ready to lay down their weapons and start making babies. It’s short, sizzling, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way to the well-earned HEA. (A 23,000-word novella.)

Save Me by Tia Louise is a sexy action-packed novella. Mace and Jessa's story had me from the start, their connection felt like an adrenaline rush from combat to the steamy sex.
Jessa Steele is one tough woman, her only downfall is she's stubborn when it comes to going after a target.  It could cost her the man she loves and the start of a family. Mace Moscaretti is an off the charts G.I. alpha male, his need to protect his wife in battle had me clawing whatever was near me. I hated that Jessa and Mace's romance was told in a short story. I wanted more.  Tia Louise did cover the story from the beginning to an HEA, I guess it's just that these characters left a lasting impression.

Release Blitz & Book Review for Commitment by T.K. Leigh

Commitment, Book one in The Redemption Duet, an Emotional Second Chance Romance by T.K. Leigh is AVAILABLE NOW!!

She’s my sister’s best friend. She thinks I've never noticed her. She couldn’t be more wrong. Now I just needs to prove it to her…before she walks down the aisle.
Brooklyn Tanner and Andrew Brinks have a long history…one she wants nothing more than to forget. Considering he’s her best friend’s brother and single father to two amazing girls who mean the world to her, it’s almost impossible.
When the man she’s been dating proposes, she thinks it’s exactly what she needs to finally close this chapter of her life. After all, over sixteen years have passed since she gave Andrew Brinks her heart, only for him to destroy it. Why should that matter now?
But it matters to Drew.
When he learns of her engagement, he realizes he has a decision to make. Does he finally tell Brooklyn the truth of what happened all those years ago? Or does he watch her marry another man to protect her from enduring any more pain?

I knew just by the author's name, T.K. Leigh, I had to start with the novella Promise to get the full story of Brooklyn and Tanner. It may be a young adult romance, but I was able to feel the emotions of falling in love and letting go. Which leads me to the continuation of their relationship in Commitment the first book in the Redemption duet.

Brooklyn Tanner has carried a torch for her best friends brother since she as long as she can remember. One night as teenagers gives her a taste of what could be to only break her heart. Brooklyn watches life pass her by until a handsome man makes her feel as if she matters. Now with a ring on her finger, will she be able to let go of the dreams she has of belonging to the only man she has ever loved? I have to admit that Brooklyn's dilemma tore me in two, her love and heartbreak is felt in every page.

Andrew (Drew) Brinks had me wanting to pull my hair out while falling in love with him. He's a wonderful father to two beautiful daughters, he lives his life and makes selfless decisions for his girls. His past keeps him from committing to a future with the one woman he has ever truly loved. How can he stand by and watch her walk down the aisle with another man? His secrets and his heartbreak may be too much for him to keep to himself, but is he willing to tell her and break her heart even more than it has already been broken.

I did not come into this story blind. I knew it was going to have a T.K. Leigh cliffhanger that leaves me speechless. It didn't matter that it has book 1 on the cover, I was reading as if I could get my answers by finishing this book in a day. I was not upset when I got to the end, I took a long breath, tried to loosen up all my tensed muscles in my neck,  and I mentally said to myself "I'm freaking ready for Redemption!"

Commitment is wonderfully written. A breath of fresh air with characters that had me laughing, crying and falling in love with them.

Dark, light, angsty, sexually charged and twisted.
