Release Blitz & Book Review for Bittersweet by Carmen Jenner & Lauren K. McKellar
From two USA Today bestselling authors comes a tale of miscommunication and muffins.
Romy Love knows weddings. As the author of a hugely successful wedding blog, you’d think she’d have love covered. It is her last name, after all.
When it comes to her big day, Romy has the flowers picked out, a dress collecting dust in the back of her closet, and a preacher on standby. There’s just one problem: the groom doesn’t know it yet.
Romy has eyes for the Italian coffee god and single dad who owns the bakery in her building—she also has plans for his delicious buns—but in order to get her happily-ever-after, she has a few things to check off her list first:
Lose twenty pounds
Take over the blogging world one wedding at a time
Make Coffee Hottie fall in love with me
Yeah, this shouldn’t be difficult at all.
Bittersweet by Carmen Jenner & Lauren K. McKellar is such a light and funny romance that has the sweetest scene stealer. I do have to admit that the main characters are a little frustrating at times, but they knead their way into my heart. This story highlights the definition of miscommunication, those moments that you let pass by and over thinking insecurities.
Elio is a bakery owner and coffee hottie. He is a single dad who puts his daughter first, which has had him avoiding relationships. That is until he can't resist the bakery's upstairs neighbor any longer, she has taken up a seat in his store and has worked her way into his heart. Elio holds back his feelings and his private life, these may just be a few things that keep him from moving forward with the woman he can't get his mind off of.
Romy is a wedding blogger, whose own wedding never got to see the light of day. Romy's insecurity issues keeps her from truly going after what she wants. She has little quirks that made me want to bang my head a few times, but she's so easy to fall in love with because she comes off relatable.
There is a scene stealer in this story and that is Elio's daughter Coco, she's so freaking adorable and I believe what these two characters need to break down all those barriers they have built up. Carmen Jenner and Lauren K. McKellar are both new authors to me, but they definitely left me wanting more from a couple of other characters in this story.
