Book Review for Long Shot By Kennedy Ryan
A FORBIDDEN LOVE SET IN THE EXPLOSIVE WORLD OF THE NBA...
Think you know what it's like being a baller's girl?
My fairy tale is upside down.
A happily never after.
I kissed the prince and he turned into a fraud.
I was a fool, and his love - fool's gold.
Now there's a new player in the game, August West.
One of the NBA's brightest stars.
He wants me. I want him.
But my past, my fraudulent prince, won't let me go.
I knew that I was in for a forbidden sports romance, but what I didn't expect was a soul- wrenching read that almost brought me to my knees. My heart was pulled, broken and slowly mended. The characters in this story worked their way into my heart. Kennedy Ryan reminded me of why I love to read a perfectly written romance. The love, turmoil, passion, desire, obsession, longing and fear is felt through out the read and left me gasping for a breath.
August West will steal your heart from the start, he is NBA most talked about rookie with a heart of gold, ambitious and when he wants something- he will let fate play out until it's time to take the long shot and pray he comes out the winner. His love for the one woman he can't forget will pull at your heartstrings, letting her walk away is the hardest thing he ever had to do...over and over again.
Iris DuPree is one heroine that will be very hard to forget, she is a sports fanatic with big dreams. Life takes a turn and lands her right in the path that she was determined not to follow. Iris is the girlfriend to NBA's golden boy a rookie with a shady character reputation. She believed him to be her prince but turned out to be her biggest nightmare. The only thing good in her life is her baby girl and she will endure whatever is thrown her way to protect her. The one regret in her life will be meeting her prince and not meeting him at the five.
Long Shot is such a powerful emotional read that had me in tears, I wished I could teleport into the story so I could protect characters and make that HEA possible for them. This is a story that I could talk about and end up spoiling everything, so I better stop while I can. I just have to leave you with this, you need to read this story so that you could feel every destructive, passionate, and heartbreaking moment for yourself.
This is definitely a 5 Star MUST READ!!!
