Book Review for Move The Stars by Jessica Hawkins

The highly anticipated conclusion to the Something in the Way series, a forbidden love saga.

It was a hot summer day when I met him on the construction site next to my parents' house. If I’d known then what I do now, would I have kept on walking? Manning was older, darker, experienced—and I’d trusted him when he said the story would only ever be about us. I’d held those words close and challenged fate, but I had lost.

A part of me is still that sixteen-year-old girl squinting up at Manning, but no matter how far I fall or high I soar, I’ll always be a bird without her bear and nothing without him.

When I close my eyes, I can no longer see her. The decisions I made were to push Lake in the right direction—away from me. But now that she’s gone, would I have made those same choices?

I’d walked away like I was supposed to. I’d kept my distance. I’d bent over backward to keep Lake pure, but she’s no longer that girl, and I don’t know if I can stay away anymore. I only know I don’t want to. She’s still everything I want and nothing I should ever have, but if anyone can move the stars, it’s her great bear in the sky.

Have you ever read a series that consumed your thoughts and emotions? By the time I read the third book Move The Stars in the Something In the Way series, I was a walking emotional pit -zoned out to the world. I felt as if Jessica Hawkins gathered all the feels that I have inside of me, put them in a bag, shook them up and tossed them into the sky. Wanting  to slowly watch them fall and torture me every minute until she could align my emotions with every swipe of the page.

This is not my first book by this author so I shouldn't have been so surprised with how gutted I was. I have to say it's because this story felt so real. A forbidden love that was kept apart by wrong timing, lies and deceit and not having enough faith that love could prevail.

Our beautiful, sweet and innocent Lake has all grown up and took life into her own hands. She still lives with the memories of the love she lost and the pain that it has caused. Lake knew that the only way to forget the man of her dreams was to move far away and leave behind her family. She may have disappointed them, but their betrayal left a permanent scar on her heart. With her bestfriends beside her through all of her tears, she knew she would be okay. That's what she thought, until 4 years later the man she loved and dreamed about is standing right in front of her. Will she be able to send him back home to his wife/her sister or is a second, minute, hour, day or week with him worth the pain that it could cause to all those involved?

OMG! When it comes to Manning and his love for Lake it sends tears down my cheeks just thinking about him. He may have done everything wrong to protect the one he loves, but there is no way that one can not fall in love with him. His guilt and fear to become like his father has lead him to the path that he has taken. One look at Lake and that is all he needs to move on-to know that he did the right thing by pushing her away years ago. Will he be able to walk away from her after one look, one touch and hearing the words he has longed to for?

When I say that this story will leave you an emotional mess, I am not kidding. It is worth every tear, tug on your heart and zoned out moments. Jessica Hawkins gives us one beautiful, drama filled, passionate forbidden romance that will have you falling in love with the characters and wanting to keep them in your life longer. I didn't want this story to end, I wanted more of Lake and Manning. Don't let this series sit on your kindle, read it now!
5 Emotional Rollercoaster Stars! If I could I would give it more.
