Release Blitz and Book Review for Steal by Rachel Van Dyken
Steal, the follow-up standalone rockstar romance to the #1 NYT Bestseller Keep…
It's easy to lose yourself in someone you love.
Easier to lose yourself in someone you hate…
I didn't think it could get any worse than having to babysit a bunch of spoiled musicians on set — keeping them out of trouble is a cakewalk compared to seeing my ex every day.
Seaside, Oregon isn't big enough for the both of us.
She hates me.
I loathe her.
The plan was simple — stay the hell away and make sure she gets to set on time.
What I didn't expect was to be faced with our past in front of an audience — and be forced to face it again.
The way she looks at me.
The way I try to look through her.
Words left unsaid.
The lingering aftermath still as powerful as ever.
I feed the chasm between us, for fear that she'll make me feel again — and steal the last shred of heart I have left.
We have everything but each other.
It's not enough.
Not when you've lost love.
And replaced it with the only thing left — hate.
I have to begin with that I am very surprised to find that Rachel Van Dyken is a new author to me. Reading Steal felt so familiar as if the writing and characters have been a part of my life and I didn't want to let them go.
Steal is a second chance at love romance that will have your heart feeling like it's being torn in two and it takes a group of friends to put it all back together.
Will Sutherland knows what it means to live the life of a star and now he is an agent to many including those that are his best friends. On the outside his life looks perfect, but on the inside Will holds onto anger, hurt, betrayal and loss- the loss of the woman he loved and his best friend. What hurts the most is the feelings he is not willing to face, it will soon be hard to avoid when he takes on the responsibility of his ex. All he has to do is make sure she stays on track and doesn't fall back into her addictive ways. It may be easier said than done, when all those old feelings come flooding back Will might not be able to save them both.
Angelica Greene had it all- beauty, stardom and a gorgeous rock star boyfriend. Her insecurities destroyed it all and now she finds herself needing a second chance and that comes in a real life movie role produced and directed by her friend. This is her chance to redeem herself and ask for forgiveness to all those she hurt. Will she be strong enough to push her insecurities aside, face her past and look into the eyes of the one man she loved and betrayed? Angelica's pain will have you gasping for a breath and when you combine Will's pain, it had me in tears.
The emotions in Steal are so perfectly written that I was able to feel the pain, heartbreak, betrayal, the addiction but more than anything I felt the love- the love of these two characters and their desire for each other. I also felt the overwhelming love and importance of friendship of all the secondary characters. I was left with the need of wanting to find out more about this series. I found this story to be a 5 Star must read!
