Micah Preston is Hollywood’s #1 sex symbol.
A rich and famous actor who has sworn off any serious relationships, the playboy is the media’s favorite bachelor.
But he wasn’t anybody when Maddie Bauer met him seven years ago. Then he was just the hot guy at the party who gave her an amazing orgasm and never called her again.
Now her job as a camera assistant has landed her on the set of his latest movie, and despite her vow to ignore his charm, she finds him pulling her focus.
She just has to make it through the shoot without landing in his bed. But when the legendary bad boy sets his sights on her, how can she possibly resist?
The book was previously published under the title Take Two.
Sex Symbol by Laurelin Paige had me from the synopsis, this story was originally published under the title Take Two, I read it back in January of 2016 and decided to reread it to see if it gave me the same feels. It is written with the two characters POV and a narrative point of view. I am not to crazy about narrative point of views that is only because I somehow get this deep voice in my head while I am reading (my personal problem). That did not take anything away from how much I enjoyed this story.
Micah Preston might get lucky and end up in a one night stand at a party, he is attractive as HELL and can surely knock a woman to her knees. Micah comes on to one young lady at the party and gives her more than a few minutes to remember... that moment ends up being a memory that they both old on to for seven years.
Micah Preston comes of arrogant and a straight up jerk, he does not do relationships his acting career needs to be his top priority. His past has given him a tarnished outlook on love and makes it difficult for him to open up that is until he runs into Maddie the woman from the party. Will Micah be able to keep his head on straight knowing Maddie will be working on the set he is shooting his next film on.
He threw her around like a fifty-two card pick-up. Even when he returned to gather her together again, she still felt shuffled and rearranged and anything but sure.
Maddie Bauers, is a strong, career oriented woman and not one for one night stands so what happened seven years ago with Micah Preston at a party was so out of character. Maddie never thought she would see him again until being asked to work as camera assistant on a new movie and the star actor is Micah. Maddie's emotions will be all over the place, her judgement at times will be replaced with pure want and need for the sexy actor who does not accept rejection. Maddie losses herself, letting her guard and all common sense run away when Micah is near her. Will she be able to walk away with her heart in tact?
"That's why it can't happen." She swallowed. "And if you keep pushing me, Micah, you'll win." She heard him inhale, " But you'll break me." But she was wrong. " You're the one who's going to break me."
Micah and Maddie's time together made for some really hot, steamy and sexy as hell read. I loved how each character knew what they wanted from each other but are so afraid to say, so that the time they did have together wasn't ruined. Holding back emotions made for some heartbreak for the characters and for myself. The characters are extremely likable, once you get passed Micah's stubborness. If they could only say what they are feeling and if Micah can stop believing that Hollywood relationships were all doomed to fail, maybe there would be a chance for Micah and Maddie's love.
And if he was being honest, he wanted
to be part of every aspect of everything she
did. He wanted to be her partner and her
friend and her lover. Her everything.
I have to say that, I was going to pass up reading this for the second time. I fell into Laurelin Paige's writing trap and I ended up not being able to put it down, even though I knew what was going to happen I felt as if I was reading it for the first time. I loved the first cover and title, but I am not going to hold that against the author. It is a 5 Star swoon-worthy second chance at love read!
