Description
Ruby Scott is months behind on rent and can’t seem to land a steady job. She has one chance to turn things around with a big audition. But instead of getting her big break, she gets sick as a dog and completely bombs it in the most humiliating fashion. All thanks to a mysterious, gorgeous guy who kissed—and then coughed on—her at a party the night before.

Luckily, her best friend might have found the perfect opportunity; a job staying at the lavish penthouse apartment of hotel magnate Bancroft Mills while he’s out of town, taking care of his exotic pets. But when the newly-evicted Ruby arrives to meet her new employer, it turns out Bane is the same guy who got her sick.

Seeing his role in Ruby’s dilemma, Bane offers her a permanent job as his live-in pet sitter until she can get back on her feet. Filled with hilariously awkward encounters and enough sexual tension to heat a New York City block, Shacking Up, from NYT and USA Today bestselling author Helena Hunting, is sure to keep you laughing and swooning all night long.

At this moment I am banging my head on my desk, because I just realized that I hadn't posted my review for Shacking Up. For those of you that know me, know that I am a Helena Hunting fan. So how in the world did I forget to post a review after reading it when I'm so high and coming down from the story.

I love a good rom/com and especially one that keeps a smile on my face and a feeling of flushed, Shacking Up gave me all the feels that I love in a great read. Like all Helena Hunting books it is a story that you will not want to put down, I usually lose a lot of sleep when it comes to this author. Her writing, characters and story lines are just that damn good.

In this story we have Bancroft (Bane) just saying his name sends chills and Ruby Scott, who accidentally bump into each other and somehow find themselves lip-locked. That kiss will be the demise of Ruby and her audition, which turns out to be an audition to remember.  That kiss will also be hard for Bane to forget and maybe feeling a little responsible for Ruby's problems, having her around wouldn't be so bad.

Ruby finds herself losing everything after getting sick and bombing the audition, she finds herself turning to her best friend who sets her up to house (penthouse) sit and look after some exotic animals for a very gorgeous man who turns out to be the one that got her sick with that accidental kiss. This arrangement feels so wrong, but she can't walk away with falling for the animals and all. Will Ruby be able to stay on track and find a job, apartment and walk away with her heart in tact?

Oh Bane, you will find yourself saying that a few times. He draws you in with his teasing, dirty words and getting lost in his looks. Every word that describes his touch and his sounds will have you melting. Bane is an ex professional Rugby player who now is working with his family and is being flown off on an extended business trip to oversee hotel properties.  Having Ruby staying at his penthouse sounds like a good idea that is until she becomes a nightly routine, talking and their video chats become something that Bane can't wait to end his nights with.

The connection between Bane and Ruby kept a smile on my face throughout the read, I loved their sexy banter and as a reader we witness this relationship flourish. Their sexual chemistry is extremely hot it will have you thinking you're experiencing a hot flash. It's not all flowers and sunshine with this couple, in the end it could be the secrets that destroy a good thing. 5 Must Read Stars!!!
