Carrie Aarons blows my mind with each new book, I find myself saying her last book written is my favorite. In Ghost in his Eyes, it is an emotional read that had me shedding a few tears. I have to start off by saying that the cover is beautiful and I was a little nervous with the title and I kept trying to figure that out during my read and then it hit me and I found it to be perfect.
In this story we have Blake Sawyer who has isolated herself after a horrible family tragedy 10 years ago. Holding on to the past and not being able to forgive feels like a burden to her soul. Ten years ago Blake pushed the one person who has held her heart away and now he's back home, to the place that holds so many memories for the both of them. Looking at him only reminds her of the pain and loss.
Carson Cole, returns home to help with the family business. He knows sooner or later he will run into his first true love, he fell in love with her the very first time he ever saw her and becoming childhood sweethearts was the best thing that ever happened to the two of them. That is until one fateful night that changed their lives forever. The girl he loved could never look at life the same way, she pushed him away without even realizing his pain. Ten years later, he is stronger and now wants to help the woman he loves fight through her pain. Will he be able to remind her of the love they shared, help her to forgive and look forward to a future they both deserve?
OMG!!! Just writing this review is getting me choked up, Ghost in his Eyes is a beautiful story at letting go of the past, forgiveness and fighting for that second chance at love. All the emotions are perfectly written and Carrie Aarons paints a beautiful scenery through out my read with her words. I loved everything about this story and it is a 5 star read from me.
