Delude if I am not mistaken is Jacob Chance's fourth book. I feel pretty damn lucky to be one of those readers that has witnessed how amazing each story gets. I know I may sound repetitive in my review when it comes to this author but Chance has this way of writing a short story and giving me those strong characters, great story lines (dark, funny, suspenseful and erotic), and can give me that ending I want or pushes that emotion of leaving me hanging off a cliff. This story is no different, except he did prove me wrong when it came to changing my mind about a character I thought I would always despise.
Zack is one creepy stalker that we were introduced to in Quiver, he also has some mentions in TIED. His need for revenge made his character unlikable and one sick twisted son of a gun. I went into this story thinking there is no way I want this character to have any ounce of happiness. Somehow, Jacob pulled that damn bunny out of a hat and gave Zack a past that made him swoon-worthy. Will Zack be able to let go of his need for revenge, forget his past and come clean with all the secrets he has been keeping to even have a chance with the one woman who sees a different side of him?
Lana, is a beautiful character with a feeling of guilt that keeps her from falling in love. She likes to stay to herself so when she catches the attention of her new neighbor, their friendship slowly grows into this sexual connection that is so freaking hot. Lana is a smart woman so when the time comes to face the truth, will she be able to overlook the secrets Zack has been keeping from her? I found myself wanting that HEA for Lana.
I can't forget to mention that we do get glimpses of the other characters from Quake, Quiver and TIED and I can't wait to see what Jacob has in store for me (us) in his next book... Hopefully, it is Josh and Elle's story. Delude is a 5 Star Read!
