After reading two books from Isla Madden-Mills, I am a fan and I looked forward to Fake Fiancee. I have to say that I was not disappointed one bit, it was what I expected in a young love romance. It is one of those stories that has sexy banter, humor and a feel good connection with the characters and as a reader, once you get started you want to see it to the end in one sitting.
Max Kent is your all American famous college quarterback with dreams and high expectations for his future. He has no problem with the ladies, but after a terrible breakup and tired of the groupies hanging around, Max decides that he would pay his beautiful neighbor to be his fake fiancee. There is something about her that he feels he can trust and it is also his way of keeping her close. Winning the Heisman trophy is Max's goal, but will the restraint of maintaining a clean image and keeping up with the charade of his fake fiancee be to much to handle?
Sunny, is beautiful, smart, and independent but she has been running away from her past. She has allowed a breakup to dictate her love life and has decided that her education will come before a relationship, that was until she felt the magnetic connection to her next door neighbor. Being friends is easy for Sunny and Max what become hard was separating the growing feelings that she was having as this fake relationship.
OMG!!! This story has all the feels you want in a great read, the connection between Max and Sunny is like a slow fire that just ignites and the heat is surely felt. The surrounding characters are all great, Max will leave a lasting impression. I enjoyed the touch of drama and mystery to the story line, it is the friends to lovers scenario who patiently wait and let love, passion, and the need for each other made this a 5 Star must read for me.
