Defy may be a short novella but damn does it pack a power punch with the smuttiness, because of the forbidden fruit aspect of the story teacher falling in love with her student. I had a little trouble trying to place my emotions. I could feel guilt creeping in because I am not suppose to be so attracted to this young man that L.J. Shen has perfectly written and made easy for the reader to picture in my mind.
In Defy we get Jaime's story, he is one out of the four Hotholes that we became familiar with in Vicious. Jaime maybe eighteen years old but he seems to be more of a man that I had expected. Most female students have had him or want him but his eyes are only set on one woman and he is determined to make her his. The only problem is he should be off limits and his mother runs the school and practically the town.
Melody Greene, she may be beautiful and smart but all her common sense seems to be lost when it comes to her student Jaime. Melody is not happy as a teacher and with having the principal hate her, she feels that she has nothing left to lose, so why not listen to what her body's is craving.
The connection Jaime and Melody have is smoldering, this is one teacher/student romance that will have toes curling. I am so looking forward to more of what L.J. Shen will give us in the Sinners of Saints series. 4.5 Stars
