Royal Scandal, a sexy all-new STANDALONE from Marquita Valentine is now LIVE!!!Fairy tales do come true—and so do tabloid scandals! New York Times bestselling author Marquita Valentine kicks off a juicy contemporary romance series with a novel about a prince whose best-laid plans go deliciously awry when he marries the maid next door. Forced to flee to the United States with his siblings after their parents’ assassination, Crown Prince Colin Sinclair takes it upon himself to become the caretaker of his family while hiding out near Charlotte, North Carolina. But after a decade in hiding, the secret’s out and Parliament demands that Colin wed a princess of their choosing. Unwilling to play their game, Colin decides to marry an American instead, and he has the perfect candidate in mind. As a home-service professional, Della Hughes doesn’t believe in storybook endings. But when her best friend and secret crush reveals that he’s a flesh-and-blood prince, she doesn’t know what to think. Still, she’ll do anything for Colin, including becoming his wife—in name only, of course. But when their plans to stay purely platonic go by the wayside, their fake honeymoon turns all too real. After a week of white-hot nights, Della can no longer deny her feelings—not with a happily ever after so tantalizingly close.
Royal Scandal is my first read by Marquita Valentine and I have to say that I am a sucker for modern day fairy tales. I found this story to be a very sexy, fun and heartfelt contemporary romance and even though it can be read as a standalone it left me wanting the next book in the series in my hands.
In this story we have our Prince Colin Sinclair, who from a young age was forced to flee his home along with his brothers and sisters after the death of their parents. In hiding Colin has taken responsibility for his three siblings that are close of age and raises the two youngest as his own. With his parents scandal and family secrets, he carries a heavy burden. Wanting to return home to the Isle of Man, he has to find a way to beat the Parliament in their own game. He decides to marry his best friend of ten years and who he has secretly loved. Will she be able to accept him when she discovers his true identity and all the scandal that comes with his family?
Della Hughes, a maid or cleaning service professional has lived on the Sinclair grounds practically her whole life. Della has helped raise her best friends two boys for 10 years and has been part of the Sinclair family, so when asked as a favor to marry her best friend and secret crush in name only- she accepts. Will she be able to push all her feelings aside to help this family take back what is rightfully theirs and will she be able to resist Colin and his flirty banter to protect her heart?
There are so many secrets in Royal Scandal, some may be far off the wall but they kept me intrigued. The chemistry between Colin and Della could literally bring down the castle with the fire that sparks when they are together. Prince Colin's filthy talk with send shivers down your body and the love he has for his family and his wife will melt your heart. I can't wait to read Charlotte's story in Royal Affairs #2. I read this book in a day because I did not want to put it down. This is a 5 Star Modern Day Cinderella of a read!
