Book Review for Neanderthal seeks Human by Penny Reid

Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City Book 1) by Penny Reid

There are three things you need to know about Janie Morris: 1) She is incapable of engaging in a conversation without volunteering TMTI (Too Much Trivial Information), especially when she is unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her more than Quinn Sullivan, and 3) She doesn't know how to knit.

After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan- aka Sir McHotpants- witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn- the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies- to make her an offer she can't refuse.

                                My Review:

With starting  Neanderthal seeks Human, I felt as if I should have a dictionary, thesaurus or wikipedia close by. Dictionary aside, I really enjoyed this story and all it's trivial facts and quirkiness. I found Penny Reid's writing to be hilarious and enlightening.

Janie Morris's life is turned upside down after breaking up with her boyfriend, becoming homeless and losing her job, she has no idea what life has in store for her next. Her luck seems to change in the name of Quinn Sullivan- Sir McHotpants as she has seemed to name while stalking him. The chemistry is there but for some reason Janie is oblivious to his attraction for her. I found myself understanding her little quirks and insecurities it made her enduring, annoying at times but mostly enduring.  She has a problem with verbal diarrhea and can't knit  for the life of her, but she knows her trivia, numbers and has a good choice of friends.

Quinn Sullivan is not a mystery to the readers but to Janie, he could not lay out who he is any clearer, his gorgeous looks maybe to blame for blinding her to all the clues that are in front of her. He is a millionaire and is attracted to Janie and her strange personality, his patience, understanding and strength adds to his attraction and has the reader falling in love with him.

Neanderthal seek Human has everything I enjoy in a great read it has the suspense, humor, and romance without being slutty, but I was able to still feel that passion. I am so happy that I read this and makes me want to reach for my next Penny Reid story. 5 Stars
