Book Review for Giving In To You by L.M. Carr

Giving In to You ( The Giving Trilogy #1)

by L.M. Carr

Second grade teacher, Mia Delaney, isn’t looking for love. In fact, she isn’t looking for anything at all because life hasn’t been fair. Everything—the idea of love, her hopes and dreams—was ripped away in a single night.
Arrogant yet sexy Adam Lawson makes the move to a small town in an attempt to escape life in the city. Here he hopes to provide a fresh start for those he loves and protects with a vow to never let anyone get close enough to hurt them again.
A chance encounter with Miss Delaney begins a relentless pursuit that has Adam breaking his own rules when he makes an offer she simply can’t refuse. Despite her internal struggles, Mia knows there’s no denying the attraction between them.
But when acquaintances become friends and friends become enemies, Adam’s need to protect those around him becomes even more crucial. Will the tangled web of lies and betrayal combined with past insecurities become too much for them to handle?

                                       My Review:

This is my first book by L.M. Carr and she definitely had me wanting to grab the next book in the series. Giving In To You has the mysterious stranger falling for sweet teacher living in a small town romance story. It is not love at first sight for these two characters, Adams arrogance seems to push Mia away right from the start, they ignore the attraction they feel towards each other until their sexual tension takes over.

Mia Delaney is a second grade teacher who has been heartbroken and the reminder of those that hurt her is flaunted in her life daily. She is not looking for love, she has her job, her friends and her dog and she doesn't need more than that, that is until she runs into a sexy stranger who also is the dad to twins and one of them is her student. Will Mia be able to resist him or will his mixed signals be too much for her to handle?

Adam Lawson moves to a small town to escape city living, a fresh start for him and his children. It is really hard not to fall in love with Adam but the secrets that this man carries will make you question him and his sincerity towards Mia. The connection he has with his children is wonderful, he is a very loving and protective father and he is also a man who will protect the woman he loves. Adam finds himself having to keep secrets, lying and hiding information from those close to him.

I was surprised with how much I liked Giving In To You, the secrets and lies keep the mystery in the story, leaving the reader with lots of questions. The passion is steamy but the love is so heartfelt, it is perfectly written where I was able to feel the emotions of each character. L.M. Carr has me wanting to continue this series and hoping for that HEA for Adam and Mia. This is a 5 Star read.

About The Author:
13982474L.M. Carr, author of The Giving Trilogy, is a wife, a mom, an educator, a reader and a writer who lives in central Connecticut with her family and two dogs. When she's not sitting at her computer writing, she loves to read or spend time with family and friends.

The idea for the trilogy formed in the summer of 2013 and wouldn't leave her alone until she picked up a pen and jotted the thoughts down. Before long, words flowed as the story began to unravel.

Since then, she has written and released book 1 of the Stones Duet entitled, Casting Stones. It follows the story of Shane Davis' journey to find love. Book 2 is set to release on August 17, 2016.

Looking to expand past the Contemporary Romance genre, L.M. is considering co-writing a Young Adult novel. Also in the works are several New Adult titles.

L.M. Carr is a lover of "Happily Ever Afters" because the world is filled with enough sadness. Reading is an escape in which anything is possible. But like in reality, stories sometimes take you on a journey through Hell before you can reach Heaven.

Follow along as we begin this journey together.
