"Marriage Games is one of the most powerful novels I have ever read. CD Reiss gets into the soul of her hero and heroine and never lets go. A strong, clear picture of the psychological and emotional challenges of a D/s relationship, especially in a marriage. Why it works and why it might not. Can’t wait for the next one." ―Desiree Holt, USA Today bestselling author

Synopsis:

THIRTY DAYS That’s all Adam Steinbeck demands of his wife. Thirty days in a remote cottage, doing everything he demands. After that, he’ll sign her divorce papers and give her complete ownership of their company. THIRTY DAYS That’s how long he has to rediscover the man he once was. The Dominant Master he hid when he fell in love with her five years ago. THIRTY DAYS She wants the business they built badly enough to go to the cottage for a month. Cut off ties to the world and do his bidding. She can submit to him with her body, but her heart will never yield. She thinks this is his pathetic attempt to repair their marriage. She’s wrong.

My Review:
The moment I finished Marriage Games by CD Reiss, I was left speechless. This story took me in to the mind of a dominant master who loses himself to the love of a woman. Believing that hiding who he is was best for his marriage. He never realized that his wife felt his dishonesty and she could no longer accept the feeling of loneliness and she is ready to walk away and demand a divorce.

Adam Steinbeck could not love his wife anymore than he did, she was his world. He struggled with wanting to take his wife into his secret life of dominance and submissives, to Adam that was a world he could never see the love of his life in. That is until the day she broke his heart, Thirty days is what he believes he will need to fall back into the darkness he tried to hide. He is willing to give her everything she asks for in the divorce if she will give him thirty days meeting all his demands in his remote cottage. This could repair their marriage or destroy them both.

Diana, a strong independent woman who works side by side with her husband Adam. They rescued her father's business and made a wonderful life together. Diana feels her husband is only giving half of himself and the feeling of being alone is what has her asking for a divorce. She wants her company back and is reluctantly willing to  accept her husbands proposal and submit to him for thirty days.  Thirty days will not repair her marriage and make her fall back in love with the man she believes she never knew, that's what she thought. Diana may find more than she expected in her husband's cottage, but will all this be worth it?

Marriage Games had me losing a night's sleep, I could not put it down. It is perfectly written taking the reader to past and present so I could feel the character's emotions of heartache, loss and  love. Adam and Diana need to be who they are, a dominant who s in love with his wife and a independent woman who wants to stay strong to her beliefs. Will the urge to lose or take total control when it comes to sex be what they both need to find themselves and their way back to each other?  I was fighting a internal emotional battle believing that Adam and Diana could not survive these thirty days. CD Reiss blows my mind and leaves me wanting the second book in the story like I need my next breath. 5 Star read

About the Author:

CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up, she's at the well, hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. Critics have dubbed the books "poetic," "literary," and "hauntingly atmospheric," which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she's some sort of braggart who's too good to chop a cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
